All 3 of them output 12V, so any would work. It really depends on the type of sweeps you're going for though - the Happiness & Twin Stags are both triangle waves at heart, but can be made into sawtooth/ramp. The difference is you can get audio-rate LFO or a sweep that changes speed out of the Twin Stags or you can get a choppy 'sample & hold'/notched-type LFO out of the Happiness. The ARF will let you define your own attack & release time so you can really draw the shape you're trying to make. The ARF & Happiness are also filters themselves, but I have all 3 of them on my board with the Pretty Years & don't feel like anything's too redundant.

Dude we need a demo of this Dwarfcraft Big Sound madness.

By the sounds of things Aen should design an attenuator for his pedals so people could dial in their sweeps.

I coulda sworn I had one somewhere but apparently not.
I'll try and get around to it this weekend :)
It's hard for me to do videos because my phone is constantly running out of space & also records audio as a jumbled mess of white noise when audio volume passes an arbitrary level. Sometimes I'll get to the end of an awesome video and go back and discover that the whole thing is useless. As you can imagine it's pretty frustrating. Like I said I'll see what I can do though!

I spent the last few days trying to get to know it. It's still highly unpredictable and awesome. Reminds me of fidgeting with a PLL. "How in the world did I go from that sound to this sound by moving that knob less than one degree?" :snax:

Word. In the few hours I spent with it (not even guitaring, just running it in the external effects rack in ABleton) I found the filter to the the trippiest part to get right, which is mad, but if you ignore all the filter section and just focus on the dirt for a bit then it's easy to nut out.

THEN start introducing the filter and stuff and wowee

As a dirt alone it's awesone, as a filter alone its awesome. :joy: It's one of few "crazy" pedals that I enjoy as much when it is in its more tamed settings.

how hot is hot? also, can you try hitting it with a similarly hot signal from a few different pedals? like say you hit it with a dimed big muff and then a dimed mini, etc. i tried running some super loud stuff before mine last week and i didn't get those results though i remember at least once when i was testing them that i ran a few pretty years in series and exactly what you describe happened.

i chalked it up to either simply overloading the input or perhaps the power was sagging so much that it dragged one of the tubes' current down too far. the tubes definitely vary from piece to piece just like germanium transistors, JFETs, etc. and it may have been chance that yours operates in that way.

This literally just pretty years in a reverb sandwich, I can make an entire album with this set up and not get bored. :snax:

this is so awesome. What else is going on beside PY? Thanks!

My friend's Rv3 into the Pretty Years into Ableton's Reverb. On top of shedding/losing most of my gear on my move to New England, I've been doing a lot of sampling of my own guitar playing lately. So I've had a pretty computer heavy set up. :thumb:

I just bought the pretty years that was on reverb. No, I didn't pay the $600 asking price.
I had one already from the second batch and sold it to fund something else. I missed it and want to go deeper into everything it can do.
My new one is a lower serial number as well so there is that.
