I thought the hi-cut could work as a 3-way toggle: no cut, some cut, full cut

Yea, it's a great OD. Id say to leave the hi-cut. At lower gain I leave in the highs, but cranked I roll it back. Otherwise it can get kinda brittle. I'd still say to leave the fuck. Just as a knob though. So if it's rolled back you get no fuck and up is full fuck. But in a small enclosure and at a more affordable price. You could probably put the hi-cut as a toggle and make it a 3 knobber.

And then to avoid overlap... Soup the fuck up. Or up the fuck with soup. Or...

But my thought was to add a rotary switch on the big fuck (instead of the 2 mode switch) allowing you to have an envelope controlled low pass filter (dubs), hi-pass filter (or LPF inverted), volume (boss slowgearish swells) and the two crackles. So 5 modes, to choose on the fly. I'd be in heaven with that. And you are covering your basic base with the fuck jr.
