• Four dedicated pedal demonstration installations themed after EarthQuaker’s most notable flagship pedals: Rainbow Machine, Avalanche Run, Space Spiral, and Erupter.

3 of these 4 are variations on delay. I wonder if the Erupter could be a harmonizer/short delay (or harmonizer/glitchy delay). :idk:

I guess this is the beginning of the Erupter story.

So...I did some Web-sleuthing, and it's going to be a Image for $195.

look what I found: (probably same source), $195CAD

"The Erupter is the result of over two years’ worth of tone-chasing, tweaking, and experimentation in search of what EarthQuaker president and product designer Jamie Stillman calls “the ultimate classic fuzz tone . . . with a big low end, but not too mushy, a biting top end without being too harsh, and just enough output to politely send a tube amp over the top.”

In developing the Erupter, Stillman “[used] every trick [he] ever learned” to craft a fuzz Device that sounds good with any pickup type anywhere in the effects chain, even before a wah pedal, and without any impedance mismatching. To this end, the Erupter uses a buffered input section, transformer-based pickup simulation, new production 5% ½ watt carbon composition resistors, metallized polyester film capacitors, Sprague and BC electrolytic capacitors, and low-gain, hand-matched NOS silicon transistors to deliver a “well-rounded and defined fuzz tone with just enough pummeling intensity.”

The Erupter’s simple control set stands in stark relief of its rigorous design process. A single control labeled “Bias” adjusts the amount of voltage fed to the NOS silicon transistors. Low “Bias” settings yield a rude, spongy fuzz tone with plenty of sag and a blossoming attack envelope that’s gated without entering “dying battery” territory. As the “Bias” control is increased, additional harmonics stack atop the input signal, producing a stiffer, more complex fuzz tone with a tighter response, increased output, and longer sustain. The Erupter uses a fixed output level and gain setting for the “thickest fuzz possible,” and to “push the full frequency range of the guitar out front when you kick it on.”

I can't see anything on EQD's social media sites, but these are on the Tube. :idk:

Sounds nice but doesn't sound like something I'd want in the one-knob format. :idk:

If I wanted that sound I'd just go for a Frazz Dazzler? :idk:

However, I have plans for a board of one knobbers, so this might fit the bill.

HMMMMMMMMMMMM...

I remain skeptical of one-knobbers, but would like to try this out in person..

These Odyssey + Erupter clips are nice.

Also, an FYI, EQD's Memorial Day sale is about two weeks away, and one of the rare times you can get unused EQD products at a manufacturer-approved discount.

I dig one-knobbers but they're definitely hit or miss. I love my Acapulco Gold but had two others that didn't have quite the same voicing and were meh.

The Gearmanndude riffs in the EQD demo aren't selling me on this.
Special low-frequency version.

I think that, if anything, Gearmandude demos have actually turned me away from pedals. :idk:
Like every time he does something related to pitch shifting, octaves, reverb, delay, modulation...overdrive, fuzz, distortion.

Just awful.

I really want to try this. Curious how it will mix with my amp gain. I think it sounds amazing.
