Confirmed: 4 V1 pedals being replaced by V2 versions

Thu Oct 13, 2016 7:41 pm

I've seen a 15% discount today at several stores, including Sweetwater & CME. PGS has them on their discontinued page. Considering the release of the Transmisser and the success of the Avalanche, it would make sense for these to be the next two to be retired. I do find it odd, though, that there's been no newsletter announcement or social media post.

Doubt it, considering the dispatch h master is one of their most liked pedals and the Afterneath jus got a Virgo Special Edition. :idk:

If it is true however, I'm going to haul ass for an Afterneath because they are taste predist verbs. :snax:

I haven't even tried the afterneath pre-dirt. SHIT. May have to go get weird with that.

Are you talking about the Year of the Pedal series for the Guitar Store in Seattle? That's been out for over a year. ---There's also some units commemorating the Desert Daze music festival, but that doesn't mean they're not getting to close to retiring the pedal. To me, the two-most obvious reasons to discount them are discontinuation or to preemptively guard against sales drops, in the wake of new releases. Maybe it is just a temporary drop, but I can't remember any other time, when they didn't do a company-wide promotion, instead of just a couple isolated products.

I e-mailed EQD a couple weeks ago about the Afterneath and was told they'd be replacing it, the Acapulco Gold, Dispatch Master, and Speaker Cranker with new versions. Since I was told an announcement would be coming "very soon", I just figured I'd let them break their own news. Here it is:

If you're content with V1 versions, they'll be discounted until current stock runs out.

So it's just soft switching and too jacks, cool change!

If it ain't broke...

I was thinking they'd be tweaking the circuits and adding expression control to the Afterneath. It doesn't matter to me. I'm just fine with my EQD pedals as they are.

Heyo.

Are there any circuit/sonic/sound features that are different in the Dispatch Master versions or are the changes purely functional? i.e. No other changes besides the jacks and switch?

Tanx.
