Infinite Recursion Issue with Disaster Transport SR

Postby Djangologist » Mon Aug 25, 2014 12:31 pm

I'm having an issue with my Disaster Transport Sr, and I was wondering if anyone else has encountered something similar in the past. I could use some troubleshooting advice. Whenever the Mix knob for the second delay channel is turned up above 0 the pedal produces a constant static echo. The volume, rate, & feedback of the noise are controlled by the Channel 2 knobs. This problem occurs whenever the pedal is activated regardless of whether Channel 2 is active. If Channel 2 is activated, the regular delay occurs over top of the static noise. Channel 1 operates just as it should. I have tried running the pedal with different cables, amplifiers, and power supplies and the issue persists. I would appreciate any help I can get.

In summary:
Disaster Transport Sr produces infinite noise loop
The noise occurs whenever the pedal is active and the Mix for Channel 2 > 0
The noise occurs whether Channel 2 is active or not
Channel 1 does not seem to be affected

I received reply to my initial email to Earthquaker within a day and instructing me to ship the pedal in for warrantied repair. They had the pedal fixed within a few hours of delivery. I really can't say enough good things about the quality of service Earthquaker provided. They take their craft very seriously.
