Arpanoid Combinations

Postby chuckjaywalk » Wed May 28, 2014 9:46 am

I just got an Arpanoid and I've been curious what pedals people have found work well with it. I was desperately hoping it would sound rad with the Bit Commander, but I didn't get anything usable from the combination. I didn't have much time, though.

For the first time in 17 years of guitar playing, I don't own a ring mod.

How's everyone using it with dirt?
Not sure whether I want it before or after.

This is pretty much why I'm necro bumping this thread. I use my Cooper FX AARP on a track live and hit it with a lot of fuzz. I mean, a serious amount of fuzz. But I'm looking to relocate the AARP to my drone tabletop and replace it with something smaller. How does the Arpaniod react to really hot signals?

I was gonna say that verbs and delays are a natural. I also found some real fun skronk by running it before my Buzzaround.

Also, I have hit it with OD, but not so much fuzz yet. Clearly, I am a bunch of panties.

I will have to alleviate this problem! Soon!

I have an arpanoid, and am just about to get my full pedal board up and running, so I'd be happy to YouTube the arpanoid in all the different combinations. Should be able to get a vid or two up in the next week or two, depending on the delivery times of my patch cables.

Here's what I've got besides the arpanoid:

EHX Bi-Filter Dual Envelope Filter
Analogman Beano Boost Treble Booster
Analogman Juicer Compressor
Analogman King of Tone 4 Overdrive
Analogman Astro Tone Fuzz
Fairfield Circuitry Randy's Revenge Ring Modulator
EHX Superego Synth Engine
Alexander F.13 Flanger
VFE Tractor Beam Phaser
Pigtronix Envelope Phaser
Pigtronix Echolution Delay
Caroline Guitar Co. Meteore Reverb

If there are any burning requests about what to try first, let me know. I'm thinking in the effects loop of the bi-filter, and in the effects loop of the superego are going to pretty wild, as well as before and after either of those units.

Oh, I also have an EHX 720 Looper. Might be really interesting to see if I could overdub a loop several times to make the arpanoid sound like its playing a pattern as it ascends and descends...then feed that through a dirt pedal or something.

Arpanoid with ring modulator, fuzz and flanger would be cool.
