Monarch Stacking

Postby hbombgraphics » Wed Jun 06, 2012 1:06 am

Started playing around with pushing the monarch with other dirt tonight, So flipping awesome.
May move it way back in my chain see what else feeds into it well, almost treating it like a dirty amp.

Tone Reaper into Monarch- Very Good
Fuzz War into Monarch - Awesome
Boost-n-buff Into Monarch - Wicked awesome

still exploring more sounds, never was a real OD stacker but this thing is so flipping good

Also switched it to 18Volts and it is a friggen beast

anyone else come up with great monarch combinations?

Monarch pushing Pharaoh is MASSIVE.
Sounds great in line after pretty much any of my other EQD dirt...
Special low-frequency version.

that is a great idea! I run mostly clean amps so this thing in front of the amp is like the perfect amp setting for me

also: This morning playing around with Tone Reaper Into Monarch into Ghost Disaster for an EQD Three Way!
Actually using it to get those old school broken up rockabilly tones with my dot, pretty cool what you can get out of the combination

Anyone stack a Monarch with a Monarch? I use it for OD and I throw a Hoof after it for fuzz, but I'm curious if two Monarchs will do the trick a little better for the type of tone I'm looking for.

Also, just going Bass -> Monarch -> Ampeg V4 is one of the ballsiest bass tones I've ever heard.

I have always wanted to try a hoof

BAH! Just realized you posted this. I'd be totally down for this if I didn't use the hoof so damned much. Maybe at some point in the near future when I'm not using it as much as I am now :thumb:

I liked Monarch with Musket both before and after it. My Harbinger (Ghost Effects tone bender kinda fuzz) worked like a charm in front of it to.
Ditched it because i needed money, kind of regret that now, would love to hear it thru the Sound City amp i have now.

i was hesitant at first because I know that stacking has a TGP vibe to it, but the monarch does some awesome stuff,

Using the Monarch to play some lighter music this week, mostly using it as a gritty boost, and then if I need to push it a bit I put the BoostnBuff in the front end

I know it doesn't count as stacking but feeding it into my empress trem makes me want an all orange board

Do you find putting overdrive after fuzz fattens it up or would that be more the case if placed before?
