i had the ol' hifi CRANKED because the old lady and i were just watching a movie.

her face when these sounds came crashing through our apartment at almost midnight was both hilarious and disturbing.

i feel like a proud father knowing that somehow i had something to do with this chaos.

Whaaaaaaaa? Mine does cool oscillation, as long as it's in the loop by itself or with some particular pedals (I have no idea what it is that makes it work, but some combinations it doesn't). Do you have a buffer before it or something?

Compact Faye Sing makes horribly loud high pitched squeals by itself, but paired with something that's already oscillating it changes the pitch, which makes cool siren sounds. Playing different notes/volume knob can shift the pitch centre around randomly and it's so great.
Sea Machine makes everything else more insane with weird pitch bends and delay, and with SOME combinations of pedals I've used it just increases the intensity, which leads to some seriously cool sounds.
Arc Flash oscillates sometimes, depending on what else is there. It's pretty nice when I can get it to work. It changes the pitch of the TAFM oscillation if it's also on.
I haven't managed to get the DMM to do much yet, but I'm sure there's some way to get crazy feedback out of it.
SMMH makes one high pitched note, it's kinda cool but not that great. Much more fun to run it after and use it on all the craziness.
DOD octaver is just really loud feedback.

Feedback loops are fun! I've done more playing around with my CCB than actually playing since I got it. It's a good thing my housemates are pretty loud and cool with loud music or they'd be piiiissed. :joy:

^That clip is awesome! Haven't managed to make anything THAT cool yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time and experiments.

Boss CE-2 makes sweet pulsing synth-wah noises <3

Devi's Truly Beautiful Disaster and chk chk boom seem to cancel each other out... hit the loop on one and if the other is present in it then ALL effects stop and clean signal comes through... Strange, but surprisingly handy

Anything with a time-based effect like delay, echo or old bucket brigade stuff like the CE-2 seems to work well for me

FUN TIP:

My signal chain is TAFM > CCB [year4545 > DL8 > Xerograph > VPjr > DL8]. What's fun to do is set the CCB to maximum, put the VPjr at zero, and have my TAFM on. The CCB will actually BYPASS the VPjr, so now I have choppy tremolo! ^_^ or, turn any of the effects inside of the CCB on, and use the VP to fade in the feedback mayhem!

That's really cool, didn't know you could use volume pedals like that. Sometimes my TAFM does the weird stuttery tremolo and other times it doesn't...but that's kind of how all pedals are in it.

In feedback loops, I've noticed that "helping" the output of some pedals by either putting a boost/od/fuzz in the front of the loop really helps. it drives the signal so your pedals cannot help but react.

Also, for those of you who don't have volume controls in your loop, a regular distortion/od/fuzz can be used to calm the signal with the volume control (regular dirt tends to be more transparent, while a fuzz tends to color the sound of the loop the most)

and also:

works wonderful in a loop:

digitech synth wah
chicken salad
ibanez ap7
devi ever lp (that stutter :O )
fab flange
rp70
The Common Men.
Northern California's Post-Punk/Shoegaze Vanguards.

Signal chain is Tafm > mini delay > CCB (with everything inside of it).

Image

I really like having a volume pedal in the loop. And the TAFM and delay before it. I've found that LOWERING the input volume causes some my pedals to actually react more (delays, 4545). But I'm really happy with this set-up. Two or three more things are going into the main loop, but otherwise, I'm loving it. The CCB is a big and fun part of a lot of my sounds and it provides a lot of flexibility, having a phrase sampler inside its loop :)
