like seriously i gotta keep treble at about 12 and lows/mids maxxed

how can i go about fixing this, scruffie im talkin to you (wiz said so )
im pretty sure i should just change some caps and reisistors to higher values but i wanna be sure yo, so talk to me my friendz

Is that the 4 or 5 tube version? I'l be stabbing in the dark without the schematic but quick fix... try decreasing the size of the treble pot & if you can work out which it is increase the tone stacks treble cap.

And doesn't that amp have an bright switch on it...? if it does find it and turn it off lol,

It is 10 in the morning here and I woke up at 10 yesterday so might have to wait till i've had a little nap to go over the schematic but i'm sure we can get something in there sorted.

Looks to me to be C2 & C14 220pF... Try something higher till you get what you like

Increasing those two should work. In addition you could also change c36 and c37 to .1 uf, which will darken the overall sound.

If you can find a schematic (or the schematic for what it is based off)... and have an idea of what you want it to sound like can have a look over it, what's wrong with it? Sometimes though... it's just better to buy something new (unless your me who will go no end to avoid paying for something even if it ends up being more hassle and cash)

Be Careful of those big caps man! (as i'm sure you know but better to be safe than sorry) and don't forget to take your watch off... and wear trainers... I wont even bother to say unplug it...

No the arm behind your back will prevent an cap discharging accross your heart if you accidentaly touch an Large cap while soldering the rest as they hold a charge of course and while soldering you could make an mistake, obviously at some points you will need 2 hands, but when you can it's good practice.

I would have said SUNN 300T but its out of my price range and Aen has talked about a <$1000 price tag.

Ah fair, to be honest, i'm not really an amp man, I can fix them... I can see the circuit, but I dunno much about them, infact I don't even have tubes... This is all monetary based though, I shall soon be buying my first amp kit and learning itss working, I mainly have experience in terrible amps and trying to upgrade them & miniature 386 Based amps I mess with on my breadboard and use for circuit testing... I drain the filter caps, and then jumper the first one to ground, ‘cause some times you do need two hands and you can accidentally touch things. You just have to remember to remove the jumper before plugging it in.

Tube amps make sense to me. Some stomp boxes (phasers, chorus) and SS amps intimidate me.
And I can’t figure out why Music Man and Marshal (JCM 900) used opamps for reverb when a single tube would have worked better.
