I thought I'd make it a little easier for people interested in experimenting with DIY fun to let everyone know where we get some of our signature items to create our humble sonic destructors.

We've been through a gaggle of different photo eyes and eventually settled on these. Their cheap, reliable, and work well with 100k pot situations (what we use for our feed back loops). Toss 'em into your bread board experiments where a 100k pot or resistor might do well and you might be rewarded with a lot of fun.

We've been using this since day one. The downside is that you can't bake the pedals (to harden the paint), it can bunch up when you attach certain components, and sometimes when you spray clear coat on it.... well... it can be finicky. The upside is that your imagination (and ability in Photoshop) is the limit, it's really easy to attach to an enclosure (just stick it on... because well... it's a sticker!) and with a good coat of... clear coat, it holds up pretty well to wear and tear!

I've been looking for analog joysticks like these forever. The moment I found them, I put together the Synth Mangler and a flood of other ideas came to mind as what to do next (which will all hopefully come to pass in 2007). They come in both 150k and 10k flavours. What's so great about these, is that they are literally just two 16mm pots attached to a (surprisingly non-complex) joystick mechanism. In other words, any DIY / MOD project you have that involves two pots that are near 100k or 10k value could be replaced by one of these joysticks. I mean seriously... say you have a delay pedal who's Feedback and Delay Time knobs are both 100k... you could just replace them with a joystick and JOY! :') Speaking of... you should bug Brian Marshall over at Subdecay to make a version of his Noise Box with a joystick control (I brought it up to him, but I couldn't tell how keen he was on the idea... probably doesn't think there is a market for it) :'(

ANYHOW... beyond that, we've been getting most of our other parts from http://www.mouser.com, but most recently have been getting incredible deals from http://www.pedalpartsplus.com , and we'll eventually be buying from New Sensor (yay!)

Our PCB's have been always always from Adam Romero ( adamromero@gmail.com ), who should email if you need some made. I'd like to be able to suggest http://www.futurlec.com for pcb's, but their turn around time can take half a year, and their communication sucks.

Um... I guess that about covers it.

They've been around for a long time.
Their amp data bass is pretty much correct, as far as those I know go.

^^^^ Well, I ended up comparing some of the schematics I found on there to different ones for the same pedal on other sites, and for the most part they looked the same. Seems as though they should be alright.
