Different boards, I guess.
Mine was an early number with the signatures and poster. The one on the left doesn't look like it was drawn on by Wayne like mine was.

Excellent! Thanks a ton. Got my transfos yesterday, so I'm going back to the BB today. Perfect timing!

Re: Death by Audio The Flaming Lips Space Ring PCB
The only difference between the two versions is the output trimmer was replaced by a resistor. Looking at the two versions, other than a trace for the power, everything else looks equal.
42TM018 transfos are the ticket. Breadboard model is doing what the videos do. I'm using a TLC27M2, no point wasting a quad here. This is what I have;
I also found that you can really up the ante by bridging the output of the 567 to the second stage directly. It just blows everything up completely, mega squarewave trem to mega screaming, which is sorta cool. The XYZ switch still functions, but everything goes into hyper-drive. If you want to go that route, it would look like this;
You'll still get the ring mod feed, but the decoder will obliterate your signal on the way out. Constantly. Probably be cool as a footswitch labelled "Meltdown" or something like that.

Yeah, that sounds really cool.
Maybe something on a momentary like the havoc switch on Caroline pedals would be cool.

If all goes well I'll have to see about drawing up the Crash Mod, next.

Re: Death by Audio The Flaming Lips Space Ring PCB
This has been my set up for two weeks now, only thing I want on board the rings are mix knob's..i suppose, hopefully when one of you build one, you could create a "super" version with some additional functions...when the drones are off, I use the two rings as drones and they bounce off each other just like the sleepdrone, all in all its seemless even without a mix knob...you can have 12 oscillator's going into it engaged and when disengaged the sound drop transfers back nicely to ear.
about to disassemble and open these rings up to compare.

By mix knob, do you mean a clean blend? I still have this on the breadboard, I could try to noodle that in. Maybe graft in the clean blend circuit out of the Two Face Fuzz. That one's pretty potent. Then maybe I could add a second clean output jack as well.

If you could validate the schematic, that would be super cool of you. The only thing you'll really have to watch out for is traces that go under components, such as the IC's, and transfos.

Just send one of your units to Dino so the DIY community at large gets a win you know he will add the good mods and return it in good working order
