I like it. It's catchy. Decent solo. Strong message.

I just have not followed a lot of newer Weezer material. More surprised than anything. I can't talk I listen to horrible music. MY daughter thought that Weezer song was rad. We are listening to some Dave Holland to add balance to the universe.

For years, Weezer's been one of those bands whose new stuff is so abysmal that it's verged on back-tainting the whole catalog for me. That new one may have finally done it. Good god.

Anyway:

I've enjoyed their last two albums. Sure, they're not as good as the early ones. But, they never are.

I only like the first two, both of which were particularly huge for me growing up. I've tried to like the newer stuff, but I just can't—still a strong believer in the theory that Matt Sharp held that band together. Or at least kept Rivers in check.

There is no better way to illustrate the intangible nature of 'quality' to modern day American listeners of a certain vintage than comparing the first two Weezer records to the rest of their recorded output.

I wish Cloudkicker would release more straight up drone tracks like this one, seriously one of my favorite drone pieces. :joy:

I have loads of friends (internet and otherwise) who are real big into Cloudkicker. I'm not a huge fan, but I liked that piece quite a bit more than his other stuff -- possibly because it doesn't really sound like Cloudkicker.

I assume you already know Boris's Cloud Chamber, right? Based on that I think you will dig it if you haven't hunted it down already.

Oh, and on topic:

Yup! Boris is how I got into drone (and then Sunn, but Boris came first).

Holy shit I'm digging Hashshashin thus far, this shit is my jam.
