March '22 Bandcamp Hauls| Unreal Engine Friday!

Postby D.o.S. » Fri Mar 20, 2020 11:35 am

We probably all know that bandcamp's not taking a cut today until like 9pm Pacific time (not that they take much of a cut anyway), but as someone who doesn't actually need any money from music to pay bills, I'd like to see what we've purchased so far? (and you should all buy what I've purchased because these records rip):

First up: Deafkids & Rakta on one split single!
https://deafkidspunx.bandcamp.com/album/forma-sigilo

Plus this one from Sly & The Family Drone, which comes in a swanky cd:
https://familydrone.bandcamp.com/album/live-at-cafe-oto

Everything on Bong's own Bandcamp, since most of it is non-label/small run stuff:
https://bong.bandcamp.com

Plus this one, because I don't own a copy of it and it was one of the best records of 2018:
https://ritualproductions.bandcamp.com/ ... xistence-2

And some more Mike Vest:
https://visualvolume-mikevest.bandcamp.com/album/cygnus
https://visualvolume-mikevest.bandcamp. ... um/consort

And this one, from Adam Richardson (of Rammsess fame and one of the folks involved in Ritual Productions):
https://ritualproductions.bandcamp.com/ ... ent-lights

Anyone else give some money to awesome artists in exchange for excellent jams people might not have listened to yet?

I'm trying but Bandcamp keeps crashing! I hope that's from all the purchases. Grumble.

So far I got a Part Chimp record because Part Chimp are great and everyone should know.

https://partchimp.bandcamp.com/album/iv

I bought this yesterday because I'm not smart. But it's fun stuff. https://naturmachtproductions.bandcamp. ... nd-and-sky

Will probably buy that Rakta/Deafkids thing d.o.s. is on about, and a whole bunch more stuff. I realised I'm saving a decent amount of money on petrol/train tickets by not going to work

Saw Emma recently and it was probably the best concert I've been to ever. It was an intimate experience with just her, the crowd and her guitar. She was so awesome, humble and actually pretty insecure still despite being so fucking awesome. I think it had to do more with shit head metal heads since she was on the Cult of Luna ticket. People were literally being assholes on her other dates and she thanked us for being so kind. Weird feeling man.

Anyway, love you Emma so I bought the rest of your catalog on Bandcamp.

I hate people who act shitty to support acts. If you don't want to listen, go outside?

The Rakta/Deafkids split is indeed very good. Do Recommend. :animal:
