I have been introduced to the Meters by our drummer some years ago, and they sort of started my passion for Funk

Speaking with Chank in the Prog thread for a totally different lexical reason, these guys came to my mind:

Joe Tex is not really my cup of tea, but that Zapp track is sooo tight! :thumb:

Budos Band is one that I missed! Great band, definitely funky and their latest album is a bop.

lordgalvar, Praxis are a funny one in that whilst they have a strong element of funk, I'm not sure I could pick one song that is truly funk start to finish. Transmutation is one of my top albums of forever and this is probably their most straightforward cut:

Which ties us conveniently back into Bootsy

And this little theme pops into my head at least once a week, got that G-Thing swing

Some top stuff being thrown up here folks!

That's the Praxis albumI was thinking of with the most funk. It's just weird that every time a conversation turns to Praxis, somebody says "Oh, I love that funky stuff". Glad it ain't just me missing something haha...I know they had the pedigree but it ain't straight funk (like lots of stuff ).
