Gimme your Rhythm (a Funk thread)

ILF why you no love funk?
Even if we all enjoy drones, glitches and general sound deconstruction, I know you do love a tasty groove when you feel it.

Probably there was some thread I could have necrobump'd but I couldn't find it.

Funkadelic. :bear:

I've heard this being described as funk, so I'll squeeze it in:

Finally, a thread well and truly within my wheelhouse!

Come on, Come Over is possibly my favourite Jaco cut, that 16th note groove is to die for. Sadly he never got to show off that side of his playing too much in his time. Then you add in Sam & Dave, what's not too fall in love with?

Glad to have found more funk heads here! Quality stuff!
Don't want to quote single posts so:

Eivind August & Ugly Nora: I'm always skeptical when it comes to usually non-funk-familiar artist to go this way because they often lack of that essential grooviness, those you posted are not the case. :thumb:

Chank: I know you were going to post something, was expecting something like Herbie Hancock   still, never been a Pastorius huge fan but that track rips!

Dapper Bandit:  I think every single artist you posted is somehow in the "essential funk" folder on my computer, AAAAAND I love Secret Chiefs 3 (even in their less funky moments). Gonna look for more of the last one you posted because I don't know them!

Inconuucl: they're the band of the moment for a lot of friends of mine, and sure they can promote their stuff properly, so far I have just seen some videos here and there, but I swear I'm gonna listen to an album.

I knew you'd come through.

Where's the funkier Praxis now? (I ask because people tell me they are a funk band, but I haven't heard the really funky jamz yet).

Does Budos Band count? Cuz I can get with some Budos...

And I don't know if that then opens the door to Brownout, but am hoping...
