Slow Mass appreciation thread (ffo Fugazi? Weezer? idk)

Postby tremolo3 » Mon Jan 21, 2019 3:54 pm

I just discovered this band from Chicago after seeing they were coming to town, checked them out and I was immediately fucking blown away :omg:

pop one:

hardcore one:

Drummer is fucking good, if I knew he was playing for Minus the Bear on last tours I would totally been there on first row.
They kinda remind me of Young Widows, Part Chimp and those bands.

Yeah, been following them for a while, was just watching them on Youtube about an hour ago haha. Their EP and album are both great. So glad their original drummer is back, looked like he had left the band for good. He is immense.

Definite Fugazi influence, there's a bit of Drive Like Jehu in there too.

Yeah, I picked up their new album on Bandcamp at the end of the year when I snarfed up a BUNCH of albums. Gotta listen to it in greater depth, but I dig what's penetrated my calcified brain thus far.

Other band they were touring with was Super Unison, and ironically I find more DLJ influence in Slow Mass

I guess it's matter of time they get the recognition they deserve.
