Best alternate timeline: The Pumpkins only ever record Siamese Dream and then peaced the fuck out.

Rick Rubin is the most overrated producer in the world.

I liked Siamese Dream as much as Gish and Mellon Collie. All three were brilliant IMO.

Sucks that Billy is such a shitty human being though.

Agree -- I think SD is by far and away their best work, lots of other good stuff (Pisces Iscariot has a few gems), but Billy is such a moron, both as a person and as a musician.

Siamese Dream is honestly the only thing that inspired me to buy a guitar. Fuck you billy, you let me down.

Ya boi is necroing this thread.

We got a new song.

New album is also on preorder.

Some thoughts:

Compared to Solara, I feel like this is the better of the two singles we have so far. The bounce its got reminds me a lot of 1979, sort of like a spiritual successor to that song. I'm still cautiously optimistic going into the full album, but this at least has me a little more hype than Solara originally got me.

I feel like at the very least this has potential. Its obvious we're never gonna get another record in the vein of SD or MCIS, but theres still a chance we'll get something really fucking solid. Worth noting that when I saw them live last month they fucking crushed it. So I really hope we get a part 2 to the Shiny tour.

At the very least, we got a good ass tour with the majority of the OG line up. I'm a happy happy boy.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

I don't really understand why anyone is messing with these fools anymore, since there are so many bands that do heavy psych rock just as well as they ever did. Why further inflate Billy's ego? He needs to heal, not gather more money.

Sounds like Billy is going more back to his roots. I like it. Never thought I'd say that. I mean, I really disliked his solo stuff and last two albums. This isn't bad though. The drum beat is almost identical to 1979. I actually can appreciate the nostalgia of putting part of an old song in a new. NIN's does that shit all the time. I love it. When it done well that is.

I dunno. This song is great IMO.

1979 already had a spiritual successor called Perfect. This is just sad.

Pretty much, and I never thought anything could get worse in the realm of hit recycling than the new Spiritualized record. :barf:
