Hey folks. Im at a custom motorcycle show afterparty waiting for Weedeater to play. I fucking love that band and I feel bad because whoever booked this is a fucking idiot. First up was a local punk band who were ok i guess. They played a black flag cover and had obnoxious oscillating delay on every song so I cant be mad. Then 2 guys rapping over an ipod, now a fucking metallica cover band is playing

Me: just play "search and destroy" and get off the stage
Them: "GIMME FUEL GIMME FIRE GIMME DABAJABAZAAA"
Me: fuck

Whats the worst / weirdest lineup of bands you've ever seen?

Weedeater plus FOUR shitty local doom bands and Weedeater doesn’t go on until 1 AM on. Thursday night

Slayer/Anthrax/Lamb of God + whatever other shitty bands are on that wack bill. Hannemann is dead, you should have stopped playing.

Iron Maiden with fucking Shinedown was one of the single worst experiences of my life.

I bet it was because Nicko was hanging out at some Floridian hangout for born-agains and someone convinced someone it was a good idea.
It wasn't.

Mike Patton's band PEEPING TOM opened for THE 'fucking' WHO when I saw them a decade ago. Holy fuck...they were bad. The Who fans let it known to them to.

The third time I saw John Wiese some local indie band opened. Not a noise rock band or anything. This was at the time 'Deviate From Balance' came out so, I may have liked that band in another context, but not when I'm trying to listen to a maestro sound designer. I will say the one kid in the band clearly had talent as he played drums, theremin, and saxophone. You could tell he was the 'experimental' guy in the band who wanted to include interesting things because the songs without those elements were like JET or THE KILLERS rip offs.

That sounds pretty funny. Mike Pattons other bands are real life shitposting.

Coachella the last few years...well, most Coachella lineups. At least they used to throw in a Nick Cave or The Damned. (I go with a bunch of friends that own a house out there...kinda more of a weekend thing with old friends than a.concert thing. Such terrible lineups though. G'n'R was good a few years back and I finally got to see squarepusher which is cool).

Torche opening for melt banana was awful. Ruined the whole show.

Tomahawk and Tool. Tool is boring (especially live), no one was there, they didn't use the full sound system for tomahawk...it was a terribly planned show. Oh, and it was seated.

I saw some local metal band, Hate Eternal, Origin, Nile, and Arch Enemy at the Key Club LA...could've just had Arch Enemy and it would have been fine. We actually went to see Nile, but they were pretty bad...constant equipment problems and just a boring stage presence. Origin was boring. The first metal band was kinda like Aerosmith meets the Crüe (more emphasis on scarfs). Hate Eternal had fans for hair blowing solos.

Ariel Pink and Julian Casablancas and the Voidz was damn terrible. I almost got in a fight with some dude.

Buzzcocks and Meat Bodies. Meat Bodies talked shit about buzzcocks and we're kinda pissed the crowd wasn't into them. Buzzcocks roadie came out and kicked the console kids out and remixed the show...it was mixed all dubstep.

That time Lord Galvar was booked to play a "Legalize it!" Fest. Actually, about 50% of shows Lord Galvar was booked on...because we took any show haha.

So many terrible shows. Pretty much if goldenvoice had there hands in it, it sucks in some way.

Giving credit where credit is due...it was funny. I mean I'm still talking about it over 10 years later. I think if you talk to anyone who saw THE WHO on that tour...PEEPING TOM always gets brought up like a meme.

I saw NOBUNNY and while the line-up wasn't the worst...the one opener played WAY TOO long. They were like 70's CBGB era punk rock dudes...but in 2015. Like to the point where a lot of the topical issues at that time were brought up in those tracks. WAY TOO late bros. Almost 4 decades too late. It was equally funny and annoying. I always thought NOBUNNY would be such an insane show and it was but in not the right ways.

Love ARIEL PINK but I heard his early live shows were just awful. I still have no desire to see him live despite him (especially the earlier albums) being among my favorite.

i'll see you Coachella and raise you Lockn. a friend here asked me if i wanted to go to Lockn this year and upon looking at the lineup the only thing appealing was P-Funk and maybe Toots and the Maytals. i'm a Deadhead since 1971, but i have no interest on the most recent iteration of flogging that dead horse, and i could live a long and happy life without ever hearing Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler, or Umphrey's McGee ever again.
