WHAT?! NO?! I wasn't even born until a month and a few days later. And here I've been all my life thinking I'm some kind of rebel? Does this mean my life is a lie? Am I being, ehm... punked?

Seriously if there is to be a new punk to fight and complain about the now it has to be not classic rock... it has to somehow be beyond grindcore/powerviolence and harsh noise..
Neon, I meant I was the one sounding negative and that I didn't mean to, wishing I was as good with words as you. So yeah. Neönbläck - good, Pänic - bad.
Basically I agree with all you've said in this thread and should have been quiet instead of Pan'-splaining things.
gonna go see dangers on the 9th. can confirm a week in advance they still rule and good hardcore is alive and well. can't say didly squat about the other bands playing though. oakland is notorious for boring punk/hardcore.
Imo the "new" Refused record suuuuucked. Just boring. Bands coming back can be cool, but a lot of times music will have evolved since and putting out songs sounding like your earlier material but worse isn't gonna do it. That's how I felt about it. So yeah, I'm getting old and cranky. I only like their old stuff.
I really like that YouTube channel Jimmy, as mentioned previously. Locally, acrylics and rut are both great. Dangers is cool. Lumpy and the Dumpers is fun. Hank wood and the hammerheads. Idk. Loads of punk.
I see the term "freak punk" thrown around a lot to try to delineate from punk rock that's ready to be in a Disney movie as the background to animals skateboarding.
Catching New Found Glory live in Manchester tomorrow, playing songs from their "Sticks and Stones" and "Catalyst"-albums. How bout that for nostalgia, eh? Also, new Propagandhi should be out tomorrow!
