You're right, and I'm kind of embarrassed by the rant now.

Real artists ship, as Steve Jobs used to say.

PS - I'll work on it, but no promises that I can do any better in the doom genre :idk:

It made me buy an interface, new pedals, studio head phones and start repurposing my office into a studio. LOL.

Well, shit.

That seems (is?) really rude (the two guitar players). It takes a lot of time and energy to be in a band and make things happen. The hubris of some people to think others were summoned into existence for the sole purpose of being in a band with them.

i know. i've officially decided to step back as a mediator and just let them argue. one's 40-something and the other is about my age. the egos collide too often.

i even told the guitarist who's my age last night you gotta be patient expecting responses from everybody in messages and waiting to be called back. i'm the only member who doesn't work nights so i can respond to his messages and answer his calls but everyone else is too busy and it starts a fiasco. his answer was that after two years of this shit he's over being patient. it's like wtf, as a band goes on it gets harder to organize stuff as lives become more complicated with age. i'm also the only member with both of the required days off every week to practice and have no girlfriend or money troubles to prevent me from getting to practice.

People suck, they are too into being into their them thing.

And at this point I interject non-blues based doom metal into the thread for no point what so ever.

For me the real issue with that whole doom movement was that for every Sleep you had a dozen 13's. Bands that were good enough in their own right but average albums were being hyped as works of great genius which ended up diluting the impact of the truly great stuff. I mean how many times can you try and find a redeeming feature in The Sword before you just get burnt out?

Christening "AC metal" where it is only the frequencies I can hear over my super loud and annoying window AC unit in my office.

That is a lovely Sword burn and I always appreciate those.

As a curator of my own taste, I agree. As a fan of the style in general... if people like it who really cares?

If I think a given band are as boring as it gets, but I'll just bail to go have a beer or two during their set if I have to see them, and I'm never going to listen to them on record, so they don't really effect me one way or the other. Doom and let doom.
