Nope, but I'm currently getting to know them. :thumb:

My search led me to rediscover some artists I've forgotten over the years, Paul Lansky among them.

Also there's World's End Girlfriend. Of Whom I didn't forget of, just disregarded on my search before widening it a bit since nothing really matches the Books.

HOLY SHIT YOU DONT KNOW STARS OF THE LID

Tired Sounds is pretty essential:

But their live show from last year is probably the best introduction:

RR totally gets lumped in with new age sometimes. Who fucking cares though? Just a name. Prime example: despite being comprised of pretty wonderful artists, IDM is one of the most pedantic genre labels ever. Even thinking the phrase "Intelligent Dance Music" makes me want to puke.

Anyway, sorry to offend. Ambient.

HAHAHAHA I hate 'ambient' as much as 'New Age'... mostly because I make music that could be lazily lumped in with both.

Not collage-y but I spent a lot of time listening to Fahrenheit Fair Enough by Telefon Tel Aviv around the time I was listening to Lost and Safe by The Books.

Missed seeing The Books live but I saw TTA play in a basement dorm show when I was in college.

The Focus Group make collage based music, some of it very nice:

The collaboration with Broadcast is also rather good:
