Can't speak to the rest of their discography (yet) but this record has to be the best, most refreshing piece of music I've heard this year. As I continue to listen more and more I'm drawn further in as well.
You can't really tell what's a sample and what's deliberately performed and layered in for the track itself, and that's a beautiful thing to me. Lots of Eastern sounds firmly re-contextualized into western music. It's familiar and easy to enjoy, but not shallow either.
Thanks for sharing this, only a few tracks in so far and it's super interesting. Can't imagine the undertaking to mashup some of these scales.
I'm on it, been trying to make an album in this style for almost a year now. Shit is hard as balls to get to a level that I'm satisfied with. Have made a ton of music though.
