When I saw them in Visalia with Maggot Colony (did I play that show too? Don't remember could have been just helping a friend's band) they had a bass player and said they were trying it out live for the first time (iirc)

H.O.D. ! We opened for them one time when they passed through San Diego. I remember my drummer asking them to borrow a pair of sticks cause he was an idiot and they were like "Uh ok but we're a diy grind on band on tour so please don't break these". I got a shirt from them that just had a print on the front of a hummingbird skeleton and no logo or text or anything. Forgot about that till I read this.

My old band's last album. Not new or good, but fast and short.

Youtubish postings someone made for it...

Another album I missed in 2017. David Witte project. Some noisy power violence. Think CROSSED OUT meets the power electronics of MITB.

I forgot that this album was released last year. Pretty heavy Discordance Axis influence.

No matter what happens, no matter what bands come out of England, no matter what albums are released, Throats self-titled will always be the best grind record to come out of the UK by a long way.

Napalm Death rang.

They wanted me to tell you that while they respect your opinion, it isn't actually correct.

I stand firmly by it because they never made an album as bad as Words From the Exit Wound.

Without even clicking the link/hearing the band I can with absolute certainty say that Olins statement is incorrect.

I'm not trying to be a jerk or an elitist when I say this, but that band Throats doesn't sound like grindcore to me. They just sound like modern hardcore/metalcore/post Converge whatever you call that style now. Maybe it's just that song.

Nah you're 100% correct, it's only barely in the proper "grind" category but it came out at a time when not many people were doing that and especially no one in England. Let me enjoy my rose-tinted glasses.

I'm not saying it's bad music. I was however extremely oversaturated with those types of sub-genres in my home town for like 15 years.

My comment may have been harsher than I intended so no offence meant, but when thou speaketh of England and Grind one cannot help but remember our friends Carcass, Napalm Death, Heresy, Sore Throat, etc

Words From the Exit Wound was good for what it was. Fear Factory was blowing up, Carcass had their Swansong, and thrash was fucking dead. Metal was in a funny place.
It's not my favourite Napalm album, nor even my favourite from that era, but I still think it's a legit album. It's just not grind.

While what I initially said was drenched in hyperbole and was the result of a few beers, I did only say the best album, not the best band, but Corey Y is completely right in saying it isn't really much of a grind record.

I'll echo goroth and say the same thing:

I still think it's a legit album. It's just not grind.
