I'm too fat for all my old cool sludge, powerviolence, death metal and grindcore shirts...but I stopped wearing most of them before that anyway. I just got tired of getting dirty looks from old ladies at Sunday brunch. Back when I still had friends and free time and hung out and did stuff.

Anyway, I like grindcore and powerviolence.

Brutal Truth seem to be the most oft overlooked band, a little too late for the "classic" Earache era and maybe got a little too "out" by the time Sounds of the Animal Kingdom rolled around, but damn they have one of the most consistent and amazing bodies of work in the genre.

I really love Extreme Conditions but damn, SOTAK, Kill Trend Suicide, Need to Control etc are perfect records on their own. Even their split with Bastard Noise was great - IMHO their side was better than the Bastard Noise side. Even the last couple LPs were great.

Saw them in '97 with about 30 other people. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Hoak wore the cowboy hat, and they played for over two hours.

Fear of God are getting a pretty spectacular reissue treatment over the last few years and damn, to my ears they are the perfect grind band. Awesome to live in a world where one can order "As Statues Fell" with 48 extra tracks from any distro.....

What are some two piece grindy bands beside iron lung? Doesn't have to be strict grind, as discussed earlier in this thread.

When I saw them in Visalia with Maggot Colony (did I play that show too? Don't remember could have been just helping a friend's band) they had a bass player and said they were trying it out live for the first time (iirc)

I worked with a woman from Burma except when she was from Myanmar. She'd always flip-flop.
