Gonna try and grab some tickets for Sleep in SF today once my check goes through. Bell Witch is opening for them too, which i fucking perfect. Easily gonna be the most volume I've experience next to seeing ENDON with Boris.

i don't think i'll ever hear anything louder than MBV in SF in 2006. my ears rang for literally a week. i seriously thought they were permanently fucked.

i'm chuffed...one of my favorite bands from the late 90s/2000s, Gomez, have booked a US tour in the wake of successfully preparing a tour of the UK (their home base) and Oz (where they were surprisingly big and toured several times). i've been on tenterhooks for months wondering if they'd do the US.

Gonna see Ty Segall, Parquet Courts, Electric Wizard, and TRUE WIDOW in April. Especially stoked about True Widow - I've been spinning their records a LOT the past few months.
Maybe partying will help.

Those are all separate shows, right? A Ty Segall/Parquet Courts bill sounds too good to be true.

Actually, no. It's all part of Levitation/Austin Psych Fest.

One night of Ty & Parquet Courts, next night is Electric Wizard & Russian Circles, then Om & True Widow.
some other shows that weekend will be Black Angels & Brian Jonestown Massacre, Dead Meadow & Windhand, Ministry & Chelsea Wolfe,
Slowdive and SURVIVE, Wooden Shjips & Acid Mothers Temple, and Thee Oh Sees a couple of times.
I just picked the shows with bands I hadn't seen before but really wanted to check out-
it will be weird to be seeing another show while Oh Sees are playing elsewhere, but I've seen 'em a bunch.
Maybe partying will help.

I'm bummed to miss Slowdive, but have no interest in SURVIVE, and for an even like this, there have to be at least TWO bands on a bill I want to see.
Acid Mothers Temple are fun, but I've seen 'em a couple of times. Same with Wooden Shjips, and even Black Angels aka "The Black Crowes Of Psychedelic Rock"
Maybe partying will help.

Pretty sure they've just been playing Mirror Reaper on tour. Which is an excellent album/song.

Got the tickets! MrsPudding is coming with as well. She's never been to something this loud and shes purposely going in blind. I envy her, experiencing Sleep live and for the first time. Its gonna be fun!

Duuuuude, have fun. They fucking killed it when they came out here to Leo's. Drum Brian is super chill too, was nice to hang with him post show and get that sweaty hug. haha

Hope they come thru the bay again.
