Krautrock. The Good Ish.

Love Tago Mago. Amon Dull II is ok. Can't get my hands on Cope's Krautrock sampler, but heads need jams like morphine (and Morphine).

First-wave, last-wave, waving goodbye to your old band, waving hello to your new band, I trust you guys to give me a vast swathe of repetition and jams.

I need to get into more classic stuff, but have you heard of Cave? Their album Neverendless is pretty great stuff.

I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

Cave is awesome!

But I'm pretty much in your boat--want to listen to more of the classic stuff.

This isn't exactly necessarily classic, but I dig it:

Love me some Hawkwind and the Can record I've listened to is rad.

Keep the suggestions coming, bros! Why does no one make Krautrock any more? Has it... gone sour?

Ba dum PSSSSHHHHHH!!!!!

Seriously though, I think that for the most part it's just been absorbed into other genre as elemental parts. There are definitely modern psych bands that have taken bunches from Krautrock (most especially the motorik beat), as well as electronic bands/artists/what-have-you. Heck, I think you could make a compelling argument that the first Fujiya & Miyagi album was an attempt to make a "pop Krautrock" album, if that makes any sense.
