Needed; Musician and Vocalist for Professional Gig

CityDance Ensemble, a DC-based dance company is looking for (2) guitarist/vocalists or (1) guitaris/ vocalist and one harmonizing vocalist with traditional Folk and Blues background for rehearsals and a performance reconstructing selected works from Woody Guthrie's Dust Bowl Ballads. Musicians must be able to perform a solid, live Guthrie rendition that will accompany a dance performance. The piece will include moments of storytelling and vocal harmonies on the part of the musicians.

This historic dance and music re-construction is funded through the American Masterpieces Grant Program of the National Endowment of the Arts.

Project Scope –
Three weeks of daytime rehearsals will culminate in a live musical performance at a major local concert hall with future touring opportunities.

Rehearsals –
Must be available 11am – 4pm, May 19th – June 6th.
Concert tech week – June 9th – 13th (schedule TBA)
Tech Day – Thursday, June 12th
Concert – Friday, June 13th 8pm

Project Pay –
Each musician will be compensated a total project budget of $3000 for all rehearsals and the performance. Additional pay will be negotiated for future touring opportunities.

Audition –
All perspective candidates must familiarize themselves with a selected work from the Ballads to present at a private audition.
