This makes me wonder if there are any modern video games based on surfing. I've seen a jet ski game, but I don't think I've ever seen a surfing game.

There was a Kelly Slater game I believe (Ala the old Tony Hawk jams)

Only modern surf music I know is Swami John Reis and the Blind Shake, but you bet your ass I'll be checking out the rest of y'alls suggestions too.

This is a very impressive collection of Roto Toms. That's 21 Roto Toms in all. That is only $33.00 a Roto Tom.

Hot damn, this is good stuff. Respecting the traditional surf, yet not bound by it

I like surf and the kitsch in small amounts, the other early 60s instrumental stuff can be a bit more interesting because it has more leeway to do other sounds, some of that stuff is really weird. Joe Meek, Vinnie Bell and stuff.
Theres a band called Messer Chups that is a pretty good traditional sounding surf band. I've never really heard anything I'd consider a modern take on surf, which is probably so hard to do because the sound is so specific it gets thrown back in with retro-ness really fast.

It’s all pentatonic, keys of E, A, or D, with clean spring verb on the guitar.
Modern Surf music borderlines rockabilly (sometimes) and uses more modern song features such as samples. Trad surf has a little “jam session” feel to it.

If you're looking for 'modern' surf, you need to check out The Mermen and Man or Astro-Man?.

Legitimately the best the genre has to offer, IMO. Live Transmissions from Uranus is a jam.

D.o.S. speaks the truth. I'm a huge MOAM? fan.

Cowabunga! The Surf Box
Surf-Age Nuggets
a Dick Dale compilation
The Mermen - A Glorious Lethal Euphoria
+ every Man or Astro-Man? record,

and you've pretty much got the genre covered.
