Aside from something I keep reaching, it's new music!

i got an advance copy of this a few days ago, supposed to do a write-up on it, but the music keeps giving me an anxiety attack.

As someone who consumes a metric ton of music writing day in and day out I'm getting more and more sure the best record write ups of new music consist of little more than four sentences or so.

Back in the day my roommate had a zine that always had music reviews.
A great way to find new music for me was just diving into the pile of free
promo CDs that got sent to our house and sifting through, looking for the
gems among all the garbage.

At one point my roommate got so sick of writing and printing music reviews
in his zine that he started to insist that all the reviews we wrote had to be
in the form of a haiku. Which was a pretty great idea. That way we printed
a lot more of them.
