What is this Nobsound Little Bear Rat Tack like? It looks cool and amazon has them shipping from China for super cheap. Anyone had any experience?

Besides the deucetone, that is. Looking for one stomp that will initiate a signal to both amps I use.

Ymmv, but I never noticed more than a sublte different between the different IC version rats I used. And not even in a better/worse kinda way, just different.

It's like people wanting DMM's with that one MN2whatever chip. (I preferred my 2000s reissue big box DMM over the Howard Davis calibrated 80s one I had) Or wanting Jags/Jazzys to have the ORIGINAL VINTAGE ACCURATE switches/trem/bridge. People think some shit is the best because its original when its just different (if at all).

It's the whole if I just get that one "perfect one" I'l be good! I'll play better, sound better, be a better person, cure cancer with my tonez :thumb: Or I use the "perfect one" so MY tonez is best and everyone that don't use what I use don't has real tonez :thumb:

I've got to admit the new EHX offering is kind of genius. Just put out an unmodified Rat 2 with the modern equivalent of the LM308 (i.e. something that's technically a bit crap and cheap for them to get, just like the LM308's where) in their pedalboard-friendly enclosure. And any actual changes they have made to the circuit are subtle; as mentioned in that demo, a bit more volume and slightly smoother taper on the filter.

FWIW, I recently got hold of a Deucetone for cheap and it's awesome. Uses OP07's, a crappy jfet, and has just a couple of component values that are different to my 87-89 Rat. Sounds 98% the same. Doesn't quite get the same results at super-low gain, but since it's got clean/dirty modes I think I can live with that. Plus the wiring options are great, as I like the option of having a Rat before and after my reverb/delays. And having both at the same time creates a lovely Rat Sandwich. I had to open it up to switch round all the ins and outs though but it was worth it.

I need to build a deuce-clone before EHX beat me to it.

I did an A/B between the new chip, an lm308 chip, and a metal can LM308 in a late 80s rat and didn't really find any real difference. Now clipping diodes, that's where the fun is. All my rats are secretly turbo rats
