The DOD FX52 Classic Fuzz is comparable to a Muff in many ways and can be quite piercing and crackly if the tone control is beyond 3:00 and fuzz knob is near max. A Bee Baa variant like the aforementioned BAT Black Sheep may also be in the right ballpark, though I'd recommend a clone that has both fuzz modes from the original design, one of which is extremely scooped, harsh, and loud. Another option might be to feed an analog octave up effect like an Ampeg Scrambler or Green Ringer into the Muff of your choice.

Ok so I think I’m gonna mess around with stacking again (I have a ton of dirt to mess with). Also gonna try to scoop a big box nyc which shouldn’t be hard at all cause they everywhere for mad cheap

That's what I was gonna say...The scoop/crunch/filter controls will offer way more harshness than what a stock nyc muff could offer.
That's actually what I disliked about the SP...A lot of trebbly harshness or dark mud, and not a helluva lot of usefull range inbetween :idk:

That’s what I was thinking. So that’s why I’m jus gonna go with the cheapest.

The only problem is now I want a bee baa

So, I'll ask a question because I guess I'm not quite understanding here. If you want this

"I’m looking for super nasty, trebly, buzz saw, etc"

Why does it have to be a muff?

When I think of a muff, I think smooth and sustain distortion that boarders on fuzz.

If I want nasty, buzz saw type shit. I'd look at a brassmaster or bee baa.

That's just me though.

That being said, I'd look into a pretty heavily modded muff like the Dwarfcraft Eau Claire Thunder.

No. The right answer to the thread is "your mother". At least to the thread title. :)

I have a little bit of everything right now (super fuzz, brassmaster, tone bender, rat, big muff, and some other things as well as a good bit of over drive. I think I just have a sound in my head that I feel like it’s a big muff. I really think I’m stuck on the white stripes sound which is a nyc into a twin or whatever. Just wanted to get opinions.

Other thing is I want to cut a little bit and I feel like an ugly treble will cut more than my boomy Russian.
