The Nils Petter Molvaer stuff with Eivind Aarset is more electronic, loopy, glitchy, but Baboon Moon is just a killer album.

Dunno if you guys have read Tim Hecker's thesis, but the first chapter has to do with the pipe organ loudness wars of the late 1800's and early 1900's.

A bandmate of mine released a solo trumpet record today. Super fuzzed out and noisy trumpet.
I recorded it, and he mixed it himself. I do some live sound manipulations(ran the sound from of of the mics through my board and tweaked along) on the last track.

check your local shop that rents band instruments for kids. they'll probably have thrashed examples of every wind instrument.
