hmm, wonder why this didn't show up on my porkolator search :idk:

 "Yo homes, ...."

:idk: That's what happens when Truetone Music spells it "Porkulator".

I think that's maybe something someone in the 1950s said to their high school girlfriend.

Built myself a 1590A Si percolator. Used a little larger input cap and auditioned transistors for a while, settled on a 2N2907 and a 2N2369. Sounds legit and has great harmonic content. :joy:

Boxed up a harmonic jerkulator today, no mods and no diodes. For a handful of very common parts this is a great pedal!

What trannies? 3904/6? I do love the Escobedo circuit, it's so juice

Nice job boxin' it up too! :!!!: :)*

Thanks! and yes, just a 2n3904 and 2n3906 combo, I tried most of the suggested mods/substitutions but the basic sound is good and the exact kinda thing I like! Loud and nasty. I can not recommend enough, its arguably easier than building a fuzz face.

I've built quite a few variations of the Escobedo jerkulator and I'm curious what gains your trannies were. It's been my personal experience that gain ranges don't seem to matter much, but I've found a few sweet spots in my builds as stated above. It's better stated with the Ge percolator.. there's some magic there. I think clipping diodes are kind of a bonus in this circuit.. they sound pretty amazing if you get a good pair.

Those homebrew percs look amazing. Do either of them generate random suboctave harmonics like the V1 Zander Cafetiere?
