Agree that throwing three well-known circuits into one box seems like a waste of talent. And a dirt pedal (or a boost or a compressor) doesn't scream "Mu-tron" to me at all.

I think he just wanted to use those Dan Armstrong rights and keep the Jerry-train going, but I totally agree.

I was on the preorder list (reduced price) but I chose against it. I think his investors had more say in the direction than we could imagine (thinking of volume and overhead instead of the brand).

I'm not too much of a diehard fanboy, but like all the old mutron boxes...always thought they were damn cool and up there with Maestro and lastgasp in my dreams...but I think this will fair well to his diehard fanboys and jam-band people...just wont grow the new Mu-Fx at all...

Yeah, I'm not a diehard fanboy either, but I do appreciate those old effects for what they are. (Pretty awesome.)

Not sure Mu-Tron ever really had widespread appeal. They were originally priced higher than most average guitarists could afford. They definitely enjoyed favor with pro musicians though. They're pretty high quality. Some serious equipment. They were a forward looking company before (when they were Mu-Tron, in their heyday) and now they seem to be looking back. It's kinda sad.

The price is a bit high, I think (been seeing them sub-300 lately).

That Flanger up on reverb is crazy high...(didn't bother posting it when I saw it last week or something haha).

Would love both though!

Tell me about your mutron wah, Chankgeez...tell me about it's character...

I know it works as a boost...sounds like a fun pedal though. haha.

Heard anything else about the boostron II or are people still angerly waiting?

The boost on the Wah/Vol. is great.

I've metioned before, for the longest time, I hadn't realized there's a trimmer on the side of the treadle that adjusts the volume. I'd just always thought it was loud as fuck. It's a really nice & warm boost when it's turned up. It's actually a pretty clear sounding wah, but the boost warms it up a bit.

I also really like the long throw. Gets pretty deep. :D Signal sometimes disappers at the heel. Mine's a little sticky in the sweep. Needs a tune-up.

You can get some nice effects using the wah & volume at the same time. I'll try to record a vid or two when I have a chance.

I hadn't heard any news. So, I just checked the Mu-FX Facebook:

"UPDATE: Boostron 3 will begin shipping within the next week and a half!!! After we check calibration and QC we'll be sending these out to those patient souls who pre-ordered our new baby. For those of you who haven't purchased yet, the Boostron 3 will be priced at $274.95 until the first units ship... afterwards the price will be set at $299.95."

Their facebook is a little weird (well facebook in general...I rarely go on anymore, never makes it easy to get the information i want)...but they kind of divide information and share it between 3 pages: Rand, Mike, and Mu-Fx...and sometimes facebook hides un-popular posts...

I guess that isn't a terrible price, really...but it still so boring haha!

Demo would be awesome!

The long throw sounds nice...sometiems I have felt like the crybabys and japanese wahs I have had essentially had two settings with such a short travel...

Oh, there was something else I wanted to mention about the Mu-Tron wah. It's not true bypass. That volume trimmer works no matter if the wah/vol is on or off. So, if you don't have it set to unity volume, just having in your chain is gonna change things up. Could be a plus or a minus. :idk:

Apparently, this dude used nail polish to paint the switches on his clone. Looks horrible:
