That is a great looking rack! That's exactly what I want to build at some point :snax:

The larger VSIG-capable Eventides are amazing. I dream of replacing much of the stuff in the big rack with the new Eventide H9000, but I would need to sell much of the rest of my studio to do that upgrade.

Didn't Henry Kaiser use dumbles too? I always imagine they sound like the generic high gain fusion sound when not-blues guys play them.

Yeah, HK uses Dumbles on occasion. They have a terrific clean sound, and a vaguely fusiony drive, I guess.

The paige is not much gain on tap, just boost then?

The Page has mild distortion on tap. Lots of output level, though. It's worth looking at some of the Kingsley demos, I think. This one features a pair of Pages: https://vimeo.com/53545787

Btw is the crystal lettuce as good in pedal form?

At the risk of undermining the joke, technically, the crystal lattice thing is referring to to the crystalline structure of transistors.

whoismarykelly wrote:Do you run cables from all the processors to that mixer in the second rack? The one thing that has kept me from considering a handful of rack pieces is the additional mixer/loop switcher infrastructure required since the bypass on all these extremely expensive units is apparently subpar and/or nonexistent.

Even though it's a little fiddly, I can run an overall stereo mix out of the MOTU interface at the top of the larger rack, so I don’t really need to use the mixer in the top rack. That said, I do like the real-time control of just twisting a knob, so I have a patch bay on the back of the main rack which makes patching up to the top mixer fairly easy.

The bypasses on these rack units work OK, but I want to have more control over tails, so using a mixer and having everything controlled by adjusting the sends to the various units through expression pedals works better for me.

Haven't posted a pedalboard pic in a while.

^seems like your board keeps jumping between Pitchforks, PS-5s, and Ricochets. Or are they different boards?

Different boards. The Richochets eat up a TON of current so I don't have resources for them on my live board even with multiple big power supplies. Also, the latency on them when used in momentary mode is quite a bit higher than the PS5s I use in trem arm and flutter modes. If you stack two it pretty much feels like you aren't even the one playing guitar any more. I do like having the Ricochets at home because of the greater flexibility with rise and return times.

Oh I know :picard: I really regret that design not having having some sort of dry path (analog or digital) to be active as needed when in momentary mode, but resources were tight and hands were tied near the end.

Such a blower that things couldn't be developed to their full potential at the end. Tom made it sound like there were a bunch of new products ready to go as well. Would have been great to see some of those come to market.
