What's your favorite ring modulator?
I think I want to buy one. Was thinking of the Frequency Analyzer, but it has weird power requirements. Anyways, what do ya'll like?

Re: What's your favorite ring modulator?
Hard to beat the Moog ring mod, in my opinion. I almost always have it on, weirdly...
It can go from nice and subtle to an over the top noise pedal. The trem it can get is also pretty rad.
It does run on standard 9V power, but it's reverse polarity.

Randy or the Moog. the Moog does more stuff, but i like the sound of the Randy better.

I hated the Randy.
Love the Moog. Beside the mentioned usage you can add suboctave Doom rumble that is tits.
I have a St
lovetone clone that is also Super impressive - not Easy to get some of These though.

The Maestro is cool too, or clones like the Black Cat Ring Modulator.
I saw some nice vid's of the Frantone Glacier, sounds very bell like.
The Way Huge Ringworm can do some crazy stuff but people seem to have problems with carrier noise.
The Electro Harmonix Ring Thing is supposed to be quite cool too, and versatile, that one's digital though.
There's also a circuit by Music From Outer Space that's supposed to be nice and that one you can make yourself (there's also some schematics of the Meastro around the net now I think of it).

I've stuck with my traditional EH Frequency Analyzer.
If I want radical wierd, I can go with other boxes.
I've been using the FA so long though it's just dial it in and go.

Re: What's your favorite ring modulator?
Owned the Moog, which ruled, tried the Randy, which also rules, but they are different. I did a comparison video that scratches the surface of both. Personally I prefer the Moog on features and sound, but it is huge, and does need its own power, which may be a drawback.

Re: What's your favorite ring modulator?
I've played the Moog, and although it has a crazy amount of options and stuff, I just think the EHX sounds better. It has a sweeter tone, and when you flip the filter switch, the amount of low-end you get is preposterous.

Whatever the case, you should probably wait for zetamkiii's response before proceeding.
