oh MAN i'm so fucking excited. i have a big chunk of the one shot drum samples i want to start with (mostly culled from the NI Battery and Maschine library), working on another chunk of Bitbox uploads, then plugging up and filtering EVERYTHING EVER.

...... fucking USPS has been Tickle Tickle Light Touch Cock Blocking in my area lately. tracking always ASSURES it is on time to be delivered when it... like..... is SUPPOSED to be delivered...... for the last few weeks it's always the next day.

i have sad face.

i mean, yeah, new case will be here tomorrow, but i have the whole day today, and Fridays are HECTIC at work so i'm often too wiped out to do much.

SIGH.

Serious question here : how much of your income do you people spend on gear/modular?
I've got a very decent job and I already consider that I spend too much money on things like that but most of you seriously buy stuff at least 5 times faster than me.
This kinda baffles me... I mean, good for you if you enjoy it all and can afford it but I feel like I'm missing something.

And Antlerface : there's no point in waiting, it's much easier to get an understanding of the modules when you focus on them one by one and you'll very likely be overwhelmed with everything at once (side effect : if something doesn't really work for you it will be harder to pinpoint what and why)...

Also, Basimilus Iteritas Alter is good. Works well as a synth voice and has tons of potentially interesting uses. I need to learn how to modulate it to get what I want and not just random things (that usually sound cool though). My only regret is that there's no infinite decay mode (it would have been great it it stayed open at full decay for example, to use as an oscillator).

oooooooo that WOULD be neat! yeah man. i love the BIA. it's just delightful sounding every time i fuck with it.

i don't make a shit ton of money, a lot of my purchases lately were first subbed by moving a bunch of gear i don't use since i dropped out of Band Life, then mostly moving euro bits i bought that i didna click with. 's GOOD that one doesn't take much of a loss on most modules. right now pretty much ALL of my Fun Money is going to euro loots, but i dunno. like about a fourth of my income right now is getting eaten by gear? or a third.

lol. i dunno HOW Big Pimping Ruiney rolls that hard.

you suh, are IMPRESSIVE.

Ever since filling my 12U rack sometime last year, I've actually spent very little on gear. Although, a lot of that has to do with flipping the majority of that 12U rack; I wouldn't be able to afford half of the gear I buy if I didn't sell things first.

Been trying to incorporate the MicroBrute sequencer into my set-up. It's pretty fun to improvise with.
It only updates pitch transposition / resets the sequence when the gate input goes high, which makes it easier to stay coherent during quick jams despite my lack of keyboard skills.

& yes, I fully embrace the NIN motif

I would say I spend like 20% on gear. But I also flip shit like none other. Pedals in, pedals out. I'm pretty satisfied w my pedalboard at the moment so I've chilled on that and sold almost everything I don't 'need'.

I'm a chef at a busy restaurant so I'm at the joint 6 days a week, don't spend my money on anything besides savings account and gear. Food is free for me, Chicago rent is cheap.

I don't own any modules but I would argue, 'functionally' speaking, that spending copious amounts on Eurorack is far more useful than people that buy jewelry and/or fine China and/or furniture.

I do entertain the idea of getting a case made up of Piston Honda MK]['s, a whole slew of VCA's and function generators and making an additive synth.

I'd say about 10% of my monthly income goes to gear on average but obviously the last few months have been much much more since starting Eurorack. Plus I have a lot of non average purchases throughout a year that increases that average substantially... so an average is probably closer to 20% or so.

Right now since getting into modular I've done a ton of gear flipping with rack units, high end effects, guitars, etc. probably pulled in $20k to $25k off selling gear since going modular so that funded a lot of this. I don't flip often but when I do it's in huge sports like that. I actually used to make more money and because of that I have a ton of gear that is basically like having a savings account I can play. When I need to I sell off large chunks and use that cash to buy more gear.

Also, just preordered this guy!!
