Octave pedals?

I am looking for and octave pedal (non-fuzz, if possible) to replace my Dizaster Fuzz, which does not get played much anymore unfortunately. I would like something that can get octave up and octave down sounds, though not at the same time, if possible. I love the glitchyness of the DF, but I just don't use it enough to justify keeping ahold of it. Any suggestions?

That's the only one I know that'll do that.

It's kinda like an analog EHX POG.


Note: I haven't used it, but I don't know of any other pedal that would do what you want.

There's also the microsynth as well, but it has a fuzz qualitiy to it. The Micro POG would probably be perfect for you. It tracks super well too.

I'd have to agree with the micro pog if you are looking for non-fuzz octave up/down that tracks really well.

Need clarification from the OP as it wasn't entirely clear...you want glitchy-clean octave up and down? If so, I have nothin for ya...but if its just clean octave up/down, micro pog.

I've never played one but Foxrox octron does up/down and also gets some praise for having a fairly clean octave up...at least as clean as an octave up will get.

Most pedals will throw some dirt in to achieve octave up so you need one based on a ring modulator for a real clean effect...slims down the list a lot

I use a Digitech Whammy a lot. It gets octave up (1 or 2) and down (also 1 or 2). Plus you can control the amount of octave with your foot. Sounds like it might be up your alley.

Look into them! I see them new for $150 all the time.

The glitchyness isn't important. I just want an octave that I can run my Shoegazer through...

Get an Octron. Octave down tracks really well but you can fuck with it ifyou put a fuzz in front. Also has an internal trimpot that lets you dial off the fuzz on the octave up.

If you can afford an Octron 2 ($300 new) you can switch each octave on separately

Hmm the upgrades on that octron 2 looks mighty tempting...somehow overlooked that one. Yet another list to sign up for though...just got on the analogman KoT waiting list. Now all I have to do is wait 2 years. I suppose it lets you save your money up for the gear you are gas'ing for.

I have to say, I love my full-size monster POG. And if you want glitchy, you can get plenty of glitch by putting it before a fuzz and dialing up the detuned octaves. It makes my B:assmaster a barely controllable angry machine. The full-size POG can be pricey, but they're easier to come by than something more waiting-listy.

Also, if you dial EVERYTHING up, it makes your instrument sound like a crazy pipe organ on the verge of exploding! Fun!
