Anyone know this tone?

Postby in2thegapagain85 » Wed Nov 12, 2008 7:51 pm

I was just wondering if anyone might know what sort of pedal or pedal combinations might achieve the tone of the guitar at the beginning of the deftones song Pins and Needles off their self titled record. It's sound sorta like octave fuzz to me but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

Sounds like regular old distortion to me with some sort of reverb that makes it sound distant. That's just me. The bass part sounds cool though.

Scooped mids, reverb and a Rat should put you right on.
Bass player has a nice bass.

Thanks I'll have to give that a shot...for some reason I guess I just thought it was something more.
