Pedal Art Snobbery

Postby madmax1012 » Sat Jun 02, 2012 1:58 pm

I was listening to demo's last night, and I LOVE how the Greenhouse Retro Sky sounds. but I just can't see myself putting Amy Winehouse face anywhere near my pedalboard. Am I the only person who refuses to consider certain pedals if the artwork just isn't right?

Someone made a pedal with Amy Winehouse's face on it? That's the stupidest thing I've heard since Tuesday...

I think all of their art features dead people.

I do agree that a pedal's aesthetic factors in to a purchase.

As much as I would love to say that pedal artwork has no bearing on whether or not I purchase said pedal, it definitely does. If it sounds amazing then that's obviously going to outweigh any gripes I have about its appearance, but overall yeah...sexy pedals are where it's at.

I really really enjoy the aesthetics of a pedal (SS/BS/DFAS woo woo), but I won't let looks stop me from buying a pedal if it does something I want it to do.
Though I'm thinking of painting some of my "meh" looking pedals.

i love how it sounds. 1100 ms, and a built in phaser that only affects the repeats like an fx loop.

Very cool pedal, I agree, if the graphic is bad or un agreeable its a show stopper for me

I think that would actually look good on a board with a few other pedals.

I thought I was going crazy when I heard some phaser in a demo (of just this pedal) I heard a few days ago. Phew.

Had a Digitech Jamman and everytime I looked down to use it I was all like "Hey Jamman, fuck you".

When I look down on my Fuck I'm all like "Hey baby, come here often?".
