I got one shortly after the initial release, and I still enjoy mine. It's sort of in that Ludwig Phase II territory with the yoy-yoys of SY's Diamond Sea.

The only thing I don't like is that in chains, it sometimes seems to interact poorly with other stuff---it goes from fairly smooth to somewhat harsh. I haven't tried to record it directly, so I'm not sure yet how to reduce or eliminate this. It could just be that my final signal is overdriving the amp too much.

Not cheap but I think this is a good deal for what it is...

A players/modified/slightly dirty 1962 Blonde Fender Tremolux head for $1399

Minibrute for $225 is a crazy deal. Bear in mind that it may malfunction in time, but in the meantime you'll have a pretty nice synth for less than many pedals.

Pigtronix Quantum Time Modulator is MF' deal of the day. I've never owned one of these, but always been intrigued by the envelope/LFO blend.

I overlooked this for a while because I thought it was mono only but apparently you can use a stereo TRS cable. I wonder how it sounds in stereo with synth.

There is a single clip of it with a Minibrute on YT, but it's not in a stereo set-up. I think it's sort of in that jack of all trades, master of none range. ---It won't replace a Diamond VIB-1 or a VB-2W. It won't replace a Retro-Sonic CE-1 clone or a Sea Machine, but it will give you a mash-up of workalike tones, if you put in the time to explore its nuances.

In the past, I usually would set it and forget it.

I am rocking one distortion device. I can see where the different diodes can make different sounds at low vs high gain applications. This only works if you like twiddling knobs during playing :animal:
