to me they feel amazing when I'm just doing doing basic stuff close to the nut, but otherwise my Mickey Mouse fingers clog up the fretboard.

Yep, totally understand. I've been playing a super short scale guitar, but thinking about going back to a longer scale.

I've been debating that. And the PJ pickup combo sounds good to me. Haven't actually tried one out in a store, though. I might just go with whatever decent-but-cheap P-Bass I can find? :idk:
