What do we think about these? At first I was like “all these pedals look like a deathspell omega album and I’m just over that” buuuut the reverb with the fx loop looks sick.

Oh are they nsbm?? I mean I’m out of the loop on all the gossip these days. I feel like NSBM kind of is a style and DSO doesn’t really fit that mold. Musically as well as visually.

Anyway, I just got one for a nice discount on the verb soooooo I’ll report back.

I wouldnt say DSO is NSBM because none of their lyrics deal with that subject. Their singer is absolutely sketch though and has other bands which are blatantly fascist. In interviews with other members they have said things that imply that they aren't on board with him but apparently aren't bothered by it enough to get a new singer.

Yeah, it's a complicated matter as apparently the core members of DSO are on the opposite end of the political spectrum, but like bringing nazis into the fold to make things more 'interesting' I guess. The singer is just an all-round pretentious dick who has further compounded his anti-social brainrot by reading entirely too much French philosophy. I mean he's fucking Finnish and had a long-running noise project dealing with subject matter I didn't have the stomach to delve into. Just gonna say keep this guy away from schools or anywhere there are kids.

That being said I actually bought SMRC when it came out on CD and enjoyed it musically. Didn't really dig the vocals tho, and in the end scary-badvibes BM just isn't my thing, I more like the whimsical, ultra lo-fi, screechy kind maybe w/ some dungeon synth sprinkled in.

Anyway, Lichlaerm Audio eh? Pretty cool metal/grind/hardcore/definitelynotnsbm-oriented pedal company it seems like. Would like to hear how atmospheric you find that reverb, yes.

Yeah I for sure enjoyed SMRC. Then I spent like $20 on KENOSE when it came out and it was really awful. Just three long tracks of phoned in dogshit. So much suspect BM came out around that time. Goddamn remember nachtmystium? They fucking sucked too.

Anyway yeah I’m stoked on this pedal.

Deathspell Omega is the band in question, & their third albums is Si monvmentvm reqvires, circvmspice, which is commonly abbreviated to SMRC.
Kenose is another DSO rekkid, and NSBM is an abbreviation for National Socialist Black Metal, which their lead singer stands in accusation of supporting what that label entails.

DSO stands for the Dark Star Orchestra, a popular Grateful Dead tribute band, from Chicago.
NSMB stands for New Super Mario Bros., a series of Mario-related spin-offs that, for most, play out as the worst possible outcomes for the titular characters, a la that Sex & the City rehash series And Just Like That.

Lichtlaerm is a type of ringworm associated with foot-in-mouth diseases, common amongst persons who pay too much for pedals that are painted in various shades of black & gold lamê. I love an effects loop as musch as the next goyle, but I wish someone other than Dwarfcraft (RIP) decided to do that, with all apologies to Berlin & the dogs that live there. Get dipped, ppl!
