Still, banning political discussion is not gonna happen here. Politics deals with the essential nature of how things are, or should be. If we can't discuss that without devolution, we're pretty broken. That said, the state of politics these days seems pretty broken to me.

Still, I prefer to let people post what they will and let the chips fall where they may.

That said, "don't be an asshole" is really the only rule here. I suppose that these days, "don't be an asshole" does sometimes apply to political beliefs.
That said, I know assholery is subjective. But someone has to decide these things.

I prefer people not pile-on, or play asshole-the-asshole. If you don't like something someone says, discuss it with them. And there's something of a clean slate rule here; just because someone irked you on another forum, I'd hope we'd give them a chance here.
That said, I've gotten lots of "reports" on this thread...something that's rare here. If you're garnering even a few reported posts, that's rare...there's only so many posts that can be reported before we have to take some action (to keep this place the generally-friendly place it is / has been).
That said, "shut the fuck up" or "fuck off" is not productive, constructive or helpful. If you're gonna say "fuck off," at least follow it with some reasons why said person should fuck off.

99.9999999 percent of Trump voters voted for him because of his economic populism and ending all the wars and getting along with the world. All things that turned out to be bullshit no doubt...

99.9999999% of statistics are made up on the spot. I live and work in solid Trump country, and I genuinely love some Trump supporters, but I think you underestimate the number of racists in Trump country. My opinion/experience. But I agree with the sentiment...I'd just suggest it's closer to 10%. (Again, statistics.) And a lot of people wonder about those 90% who were willing to overlook some of Trump's and his supporters' rhetoric. That's my opinion, not Admin edict.

I post that because I don't necessarily think we should stick to pedals-only, at least in this thread. (Though I'd highly recommend people don't turn apolitical/nonpolitical threads into political ones...bad form, and someone asking for a shitstorm.)

I get that my post here (based on my personal thoughts, not on my position of "authority" here) might disappoint some who want to see me kill this thread with fire, might disappoint some of you, but I'm willing to keep this open. I'm willing to give this thread a chance to go where it might, so long as we all agree fuck racists or those who stand with them without reservation.

Some posts have been edited, but from what I can see as a latecomer...aside from apparently steering an apolitical thread into politics, Bossman seems to have handled himself well in the face of a lot of backlash. Usually, someone in that position ends up literally threatening my life and/or threatens to send me buckets of cum. So that's nice.

Didn't want to get involved but I couldn't let this be said without inputting that I live in a state that Trump won by over 20 points and down here, the inverse is pretty much true. Maybe 10% of his voters aren't racist but I do live in a really racist part of the world, which I abhor. They may publicly say the right things but I hear them when they think they are among their own and yeah, Trump voters are just a bunch of racists in the deep South. It really is almost like that SNL Eddie Murphy sketch.

All that Taking Down The Confederate Statues Is Erasing History is just a bunch of code for them: Oh, he's one of us!

Interesting that the perception is completely different in the Northeast.

I'm going to agree with the keeping your business out of politics. I finding it highly unprofessional. Will I not buy from someone because they make a statement I don't agree on? No, hell no, but I do get annoyed by it. It's like most things. I don't really want to know someone's opinion unless I ask, especially when it involves a business relationship. You cannot presume that everyone or anyone for that matter will agree with you.

That's a reason I don't do religious (of any kind) types of etches. I won't do satanic, or go God go type stuff. I outright refuse because it's limiting my base if I do that type of stuff and I want to remain neutral.

Now the Nazi stuff is different. I do think people should say "fuck Nazi's". However it's exploiting people's emotions if you sell a product during a time like this based around that idea. I believe that to be ethically wrong and ridiculous.
