ILF SECRET SANTA v2 (2011)
Second (out-of-order) edit: Here is the WISHLIST THREAD, the brainchild of Sir Gunner Recall, our newest public moderator!
ALSO, HERE'S THE CANDY THREAD!
HEEEEY GUYS. I'm running this thread on behalf of adrianlee and myself, as we are co-chairmen of these shenanigans
So, y'all remember that fun little Secret Santa we had last year? What'd y'all think? Now accepting feedback (preferably email: ericbennetts@gmail.com or PM if you want, I guess)! I'd like this year to run much smoother than last (we had a couple bumps, but from what I heard, it mostly worked out in the end, right?).
But at least, one rule I'd like to keep is the minimum post count. I know some of the most lovely characters out there just sometimes don't post much; that's okay. I'll talk to a couple of the higher-ups and see if anyone can vouch for them, when they come along.
As far as sign-ups..I think I'll leave that up in the air. I'd like to have it done early this year, but not like stupidly early. Also, I think it'd be neat to get the gifts sent out mega early (I'm thinking Thanksgiving. Yeah, really). That way, if anyone DOES get behind, we don't have people waiting longer than they should have to. And if it comes early, great, more temptation to tantalize you ALL DECEMBER).
Um, a limit. I know it'd suck to just miss this cutline, and I don't want to deal with that if I have to. What do you guys think? I wrote a neat little java program last year that randomly generated who was giving to whom, and spit out what emails I have to send to whom, and I'm kinda proud of it. This idea of a cap on entrants is up for discussion, moreso than the others.
International homies..how did it work out? I think we have a few Euros that went between each other, and someone in the US got someone in Singapore? I'm not sure what to do this year. If we only get a few guys, I think I can figure something out. Most Canada doesn't cost much more to ship to, but how is it vice versa? I always forget to ask... So for now, I'm gonna say US and Canada are okay, as are some people like based off-shore (I know some dudes that their mail gets flown from the west coast to East Asia for basically free, you just gotta pay to ship it to the west coast), and any of our Euro friends, we'll talk, alright?
I think we stuck to the $50-$100 range for the most part last year, right? I think that's fine for this year, eh? And you're welcome to include other goodies. Or maybe if you find out this person wants an XBOX game or something, I guess that's cool too?
Just for clarity (in case someone forgets how a Secret Santa works), there is no communication between the recipient and receiver (at least directly about the giftage). I'd like to have the assignments done by maybe..Halloween? Give y'all some chance to troll their posts. This is another reason I can use to justify a posts minimum!
Um..I think that's all I've got for now. I'm gonna try to keep better track of everyone involved this time. Utilizing some crafty computer crap.
