a buzzy 60's era fuzz like a maestro fz-1 or something similar would be good. you can definitely hear that shitty fuzz guitar on lots of 60s/70s psych from india, fela kuti and similar afrobeat, jorge ben and other brazilian psych, etc. etc.

Dont get the ravish sitar. I made that mistake. Bought it from Aen cuz he made that mistake first. It sucks. Go get a sitar if you want to play sitar. This thread kicks ass. I have been getting deep into sublime frequencies and the "weird/world/psych" section at my local record store.

JustNick on youtube posts videos of one of his band. Some of the stuff is a little more "multi-cultural" sounding than this. But I dig this one. Starts grooving around 5:00. It seems like he usually goes Montavillian>Dispatch Master. I don't know if its much help but its there.

if you're talking world pop music and Afro-pop in particular, gotta be a chorus.
