An Interstellar Transmission (from Canada) Dr Scientist NPD

This came last night while I was out:

So this was a special favor done for me by my good friends at Dr. Scientist.
I don't usually do NPD threads but since this was a favor I figured the least I could do was plug them here.
I can't sing enough praise for Tanya's artwork. It is simplistic yet classy...you know instantly it's a dr scientist. The light shade of blue also matches my homemade board

As for the sounds, well you can check Kayzer's youtube demos for v1/v2 comparisons. I'll confim most of his findings.

After a day of playing I still think the v2 is the superior pedal (Ryan really put a lot of work into this one).
The pedal can be as bright/sparkly or dark/warm as you want it to be, and the new knobs/toggles give the v2 a greater range of chorus sounds.

The dark/bright toggles have been replaced by a treble knob which gives you bright, dark and anything in between.
The mix toggle has also been replaced, as the v2 has a mix knob which you can use to get a 100% wet chorus sound and goes all the way to your completely dry signal.
There is also a new 3-way toggle for intensity (less, more, and even more) which corresponds with the intensity knob.
The rate toggle/knob are both still there and still serve the same function of choosing slow/medium or medium/fast clock speeds.

That being said, I'd hold onto your v1's if you are a current cosmichorus owner. I know Ryan was somewhat worried about this.
*Edit* I am not suggesting current v1 users not get the v2. DO IT. It is worth it. I just would't sell a v1 to fund it

While the v2 can get a more full/thick and slower (dare I use the buzzword lush) sound, the v1 had it's own mojo going on. Especially at some of the faster clock speeds.
The v2 is more refined and doesn't get quite as swirly/wacked out.
I prefer the v2, but wouldn't mind owning another v1 if I came across one again. I'd justify owning both.

I do miss my v1 a bit, but I prefer the v2 and am glad I sprung for the upgrade :thumb: Thanks again Ryan and Tanya.

Thanks for the write-up there Jon, and I miss having your pedal around our shop.. that happy robot just made us smile. And I really really really hope you really really really do like it more than your V1... I always have designer remorse when I make big changes to a circuit, I worry that I'll have taken something away that was important while trying to give the circuit things I think are more important.

I know we seem pretty ambiguous when it comes to the custom finishing policy but we don't hold repeat/return customers to any rules, they're above the law... starring Steven Seagal... in theaters this summer.
