I'm not sure if this is really worth posting, but in case it's useful to anyone...

First , I have to admit, when switching between modes on my BitQuest, I STILL sometimes get a little screwed up on what CTRL1, CTRL2, and CTRL0.

It's handy having the Quick Guide PDF, but I sometimes wished I had a quick chart that matched the layout of the pedal, just to make it even more intuitive, and perhaps to better help me eventually commit to confident memory all of the controls on all of the settings.

So I made this image file, which is similar to the Quick Guide, but the modes are laid out as they are found on the rotary dial, with mode 1(Flanger) being at the bottom left, and mode 8(Delay) at the bottom right.

I've also laid out what each of the three control knobs do as they appear on the pedal, with CTRL1 on its own on the left, then with CTRL2 and CTRL0 stacked on top of each other on the right.

The image file can be printed out large, or you could make a small one that you could even potentially stick on top of your power supply or a large pedal with empty space on it.

Note: when embedding an image on ILF, sometimes the entire image doesn't display properly in the thread. The full image doesn't have any of the text cut off on either side.

This is a serious question: has anyone done anything cool with the notch filter?

Only when ive turned my feedback loop on and twiddled knobs about while the Hyperion and Dark Destoyer are making all sorts of noise. If i get chance ill record a loop for it, other than that not really played with it enough, i get lost in the delay and ring mod mostly.

Re Notch Filter: the manual phasing sounds you can get with an expression pedal are beautiful! Feels great to play along and control the sweep to match the pulse/mood of the music.

Just a heads up that I edited my previous post. I noticed there was a small typo on the Notch Filter controls, so I fixed that.

This is a serious question: has anyone done anything cool with the notch filter?

I started using both the Notch filter and the HP LP Filter quests much more once I started feeding them really ugly bright sounds.

First I cranked the tone knob on a big muff and used the notch filter to make it sound good and balanced again, then I used the strangle switch on my Jaguar to cut all the bass and unclutter all that the filter and bit crush quests had going on.

I just got a Moog expression pedal. I mostly use the clean delay and clean ring settings. On the clean delay I would usually mess with cntl 0 to create interesting sounds, so I wasn't sure that I would find the expression control of cntl 1 to be that useful. I was wrong. The expression pedal is very useful for creating all sorts of background glitchiness. Quickly pushing the pedal up and back is great for a record scratching sound. Never knew I had any hip hop in me, but it sounds very cool.

Also, I find the BQ always sounds great when you feed it Catalinbread Echorec. Too much fun...

ikr. definitely my most used setting on the BQ. the verb with the ring mod is so clean as well.. makes me really want to try an rrr
