Pitch Pirate Clipping with Humbuckers

Postby doralin » Sat Feb 27, 2010 7:15 am

Hi all,

My pitch pirate clips when I use humbuckers (A Gibson ES-339 with 57 Classics) but does not clip when I use single-coils (Gibson Blueshawk with Blues 90s).

Is this an inherent problem in All Pitch Pirates?

Pretty sad as I was really going to implement it into my rig :(

Turn down the volume on your guitar? :idk:

Seems kind of a strange problem.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

I'll be getting another pitch pirate as soon as Axe and You Shall Receive get their order.

I love this pedal and if the same problem occurs, I would know that it's the pedals design and not a fault.
With the settings in the ProGuitarShop demo I can replicate the sounds exactly with mine so I don't know what else could be the cause of clipping other than the low input headroom that Doug has mentioned to me in our e-mails.

I can pretty much eliminate the problem with my GigRig Pro-14 by turning down the pre-effects volume and turning up the post effects volume.

I'd initially be one to say it's the specific pedal you have. I have a Motherbucker for my bridge and it has the loudest output I've come across from a pick-up and no clipping has happened yet...that I'm aware of~
