Nels Cline and Mid-Fi?

Postby hazelwould » Sun Apr 05, 2009 11:25 pm

On "Draw Breath" on the song 'Mixed Messages' towards the end is that a Clari(not)? I could SWEAR it sounds like it.

Just curious...

Also could anyone point out and definitive MID-FI moments on any of his albums?

I've read he's a Glitch Computer owner but id like to know what else he uses...

He has a Glitch Computer on his "noise board", but I've never noticed it on one of his albums.

It's number 4, I don't think Doug makes them like that any more though.

sounds like there could be a Pitch Pirate around the 9min mark.

Just remembered this pic -

Image

It's Scott Amendola's board (drummer). I remember reading the orange one is a custom Glitch Computer/Pitch Pirate/fuzz

that song is a pitch pirate, there is glitch on the giant pin i think....he borrowed one from bobb bruno for it if i recall correctly.
he also has a clarinot, a psych byke/fuzzz, and a random number generator (and 2 pitch pirates).
also jeff tweedy is using a "glitch pirate" double pedal.
and thats that!

Apparently Nels Cline is a huge mid fi fan at the moment. At least according to that guy.

Rock on. You need more pedals with custom graphics on them like that. Nels has a great taste in effects. :thumb:
